Our string of 8 wins in a row finally comes to an end. Entering the Go Trans Am Racing – America’s Road Racing Series event at NOLA Motorsports Parkwe switched from our now sold Mustang Boss 302 to our Camaro ZL1 prepped TA4 car. The car had strong pace all weekend, breaking our track record in qualifying and the race. During the race while leading by 16 seconds the right rear half shaft boot split causing some smoke and a brief visit to pit lane. After rejoining the track we found ourselves 40 seconds back and with a wounded car. We gained 20 seconds on the 2 leaders within 5 laps until the torn boot finally took its toll and sheared the half shaft from the differential. We came to a stop on track with 20 minutes remaining, it wasn’t all bad news though. My teammate Dave Ricci was battling for the lead and made an amazing overtake nearing the final laps. He was able to hold off 2nd place and win his first Trans Am race. Also, during the TA2 race I was able to try my hand at commentating Daniel Lacy. Maybe there is a future for me in announcing. With the streak over, we are debating what to do for the last 2 races. Could a TA3 run in our Corvette Z06 be in works for the remainder of the year…
